BALTIMORE, Md. — A 26-year-old man died early Sunday morning after being stabbed during a violent confrontation in the Northeast District.
Officers were initially dispatched to the 3000 block of Westfield Avenue at approximately 2:04 a.m. on June 1 following a report of an armed person. Upon arrival, they located evidence suggesting a crime had taken place but no victims were present at the scene.
Shortly afterward, officers were notified that a stabbing victim had arrived at a local hospital seeking treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead a short time later.
Preliminary findings indicate that a physical fight occurred on Westfield Avenue, during which the victim was stabbed. He was then transported by private vehicle to the hospital.

Homicide detectives are actively investigating the case and are working to identify suspects and determine a motive. No arrests have been announced at this time.
