Teenager Struck in Daytime Shooting in Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Binghamton Police are seeking information relating to a daytime shooting that resulted in the injury of a 16-year-old boy on Wednesday.

The incident was reported around 2:15 p.m. and the victim, who sustained a minor wound to his leg, was found at 22 Gerard Avenue.

Following the teenager’s account, the focus of the investigation moved to Murray Street between Gerard Avenue and Clinton Street. A police K9 unit was deployed as part of the initial investigation.

The injured teenager was transported by Superior Ambulance to a local hospital. Subsequently, a car believed to have been involved in the shooting was stopped by police on Jarvis Street.

The occupants of the vehicle were brought in for questioning. No arrests have been made at this point. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Binghamton police detective division at (607) 772-7080.
