HARTLY, DEL. — Delaware State Police are actively searching for a Maryland man accused of breaking into a Hartly residence and shooting a man during a violent confrontation late Monday night.

Authorities say 40-year-old Myreon Lindsey of Stevensville, Maryland, is wanted on multiple felony charges after allegedly forcing his way into a home on Sherwood Forest Way around 11:19 p.m. on March 31. According to investigators, Lindsey was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with a 35-year-old male victim before shooting him.

The victim, who was visiting a woman known to both him and the suspect, was taken to the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company by an acquaintance before being transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Lindsey is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 163 pounds. He is currently wanted for attempted murder in the first degree, assault in the first degree, first-degree home invasion burglary, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was visiting a female when the suspect…forcefully entered the house,” police said in a statement.

Delaware State Police Detectives are asking anyone with information on Lindsey’s whereabouts to come forward.
